Starting out in the role of Special Education Teacher can seem like a daunting task with so much to learn. I remember the feeling of overwhelm when I began in that role myself over a decade ago considering the steep learning curve ahead. I considered what were the small nuggets I wish I knew from the get go and with all of that in mind I have designed this webinar for teachers new to the Special Education Teacher role in a primary school setting. This webinar intends to give a practical 'from the ground' insight into the core aspects of the job. I envisage that this webinar will allow for professional dialogue for those that who would like to engage and make space for those who wish to ask those niggling questions you may not get to ask in the larger webinars available.
The aims of the webinar:
-to create a space where teachers can feel safe and confident in asking questions relevant to their own role
-to review the Continuum of Support and how it relates to your school context
-to share ideas, tips and resources that will be helpful to you in your role
I will also ask participants to consider the following questions before attending the webinar:
1. What is your priority concern beginning your role?
2. What one support would be helpful to you?
I will email a short questionnaire before the webinar in the hope of tailoring the webinar as much possible to the participants attending.
Date: Monday 26th August 2024, 10:30a.m. - 12:00pm
*The webinar will be recorded so if you cannot attend during the designated time you will have access to recording afterwards.
Cost: €12.50
Each participant will receive a complimentary copy of my 'All About Me' Pupil Learning Profiles resource and access to a variety of templates and other resources. Please send me an email with any questions you have to primarylinksie@gmail.com.
