Writing Prompts
This is an excellent resource which aims to help your pupils practise writing a variety of text types right throughout the year.
It includes 104 writing prompts for the following text types:
- Recount
- Procedural
- Explanation
- Narrative
- Persuasive
- Report
These prompts can really help the pupil who finds it difficult to think about something to write. Alot of time can be wasted when a pupil just cannot think about what to write, particularly during Free Writing. This resource can also support writing practice when you have taught a particular writing genre or want to revise a text type you taught previously. Keep your pupils practicing each text type throughout the year. I colour coded my own set: giving each text type a specific colour. That way, you can control what you would like the pupils to focus on. You can add each genre prompt as you teach them throughout the year.
